What size bike does my child need?
Children's bicycles come in many different shapes and sizes. Below is described how to determine the size of a children's bicycle. The size of a children's bicycle depends on a number of factors, such as: age, height, etc. The leg length can also be related to choosing the size.
Below is an overview with guidelines for the sizes of children's bicycles:
6-8 years, from 115 cm --> 20 inches
8-10 years, from 130 cm --> 24 inches
9-11 years, from 145 cm --> 26 inches
12-16 years, from 155 cm --> 28 inches

Why is size important?
Safety is paramount when it comes to your child and bikes. If a small bike is ridden for too long, the knees can touch the handlebars. This can cause dangerous situations. A bicycle that is too large also poses a danger, because your child has too little control over the bicycle.
